April 17-23

Specialty Week on Mindfulness
Rancho La Puerta
Tecate, Mexico

April 29 - May 20
Beyond MBSR: Integrating Mindfulness
(an online course, 4 consecutive Thursdays)
12 - 1:30 p.m.
MBSR is a wonderful model that brings mindfulness into daily life in a user friendly fashion but the eight week program is not always applicable to every work setting or patient population. This series of classes is designed to facilitate coping skills professionally and personally to help people meet the challenges of todays stressful life with greater equanimity. Classes are designed to be a springboard for ideas and reflections on the adaptation of the principles of mindfulness, acceptance, authenticity, self-responsibility and compassion. Attention will be focused on the skillful use of awareness exercises, poems and stories as well as ways to introduce and implement mindfulness including awareness of breath and sitting meditation along with the bodyscan and mindful movement based on examples from your own practice. Training in MBSR is recommended but not required however a meditation practice is essential as much of what gets us "stuck" often relates to our own expectations and experiences. Please bring case examples with you to discuss.
